How long have you been in business? 

We opened William Jeffrey’s Jewelers on October 4th, 1991. The world has changed dramatically since then and most other jewelers are now a part of large national companies. We have stayed true to our roots as an independent jeweler and have developed a higher level of “4Cs:” Curated, Custom, Committed, and Caring.

What is the value of an independent jeweler?

As described in our 4Cs, we Care. Our well-trained and experienced staff listen to your needs and look out for you as if you were part of our own family. The big box jewelers are there to sell you a piece of jewelry that they have in stock and which will make them the most money. We are here to help you buy the right piece of jewelry

Do you offer natural and lab-grown diamonds? 

We like nothing better than to sell you jewelry that is rare and special. So natural will always be our first priority. However, If budget or style requires that you need to go with a lab-grown diamond then we also offer our Beginnings Collection, which lets you purchase a lab-grown diamond and then gives you exactly the purchase amount back towards your natural diamond purchase when you are ready to upgrade.

Will lab-grown diamonds lose their value?

There’s a very high chance that they will lose their value just as other synthetic jewels have lately. In fact, anything that can be made in volume always loses its value. LED TVs used to cost several thousand dollars now they are a couple of hundred. Lab-grown sapphires, rubies, and emeralds are all a lot less now than when they first hit the market. This is why we offer our Beginnings Collection, which lets you purchase a lab-grown diamond and then gives you exactly the purchase amount back towards your natural diamond purchase when you are ready to upgrade.

We understand that not everyone can afford an incredible natural diamond. Lab-grown diamonds are a very real alternative but there is a very high chance that they will lose their value just as other synthetic jewels have. Which of the four Cs of diamonds is the most important?

It's always my favorite question. The most important of the 4Cs is Cut. It's also the hardest one to understand. And the most difficult to convey. You really have to have a much deeper knowledge of what you're doing to play in the land of well-cut diamonds. 2 similar diamonds may look the same on paper but cut truly sets them apart.

Can you help me design my own jewelry?

Yes, of course, and we have decades of experience in doing so! Custom jewelry design is one of our specialties. All of our staff are trained in the ability to sketch and design lovely pieces of jewelry and we have plenty of examples to show you. We can help you find gorgeous gems or diamonds and we can even help you rework your grandmother's ring into something perfect for you.

Why don’t you sell your jewelry online? 

Unfortunately, when you shop online you don't always get what you expect. What you see isn't always what you get in the land of online sales. And the return process is so cumbersome that a lot of people just end up keeping the purchase and settling for something less than what they bought.

Does William Jeffrey’s adhere to the Kimberley Process for diamonds?

Yes, All of our vendors and our company adhere to the Kimberley Process. The Kimberley Process was established in 2003 to prevent "conflict diamonds" or “blood diamonds” from entering the mainstream rough diamond market.

Why does William Jeffrey’s buy diamonds from Antwerp, Belgium?

80 percent of all of the rough diamonds in the world, travel through Antwerp and 70 percent of all the finished diamonds in the world make a second trip back through Antwerp. It is the center of all things in the diamond industry and we consider it our second home. 

There are very few retail jewelers that are members of the Antwerp World Diamond Council and William Jeffrey’s is proud to be a member. One of them happens to be William Jeffries. At the big box jewelry stores, a diamond goes through 16 hands before it gets the customer. At William Jeffery’s it goes through only three hands before it gets to you.
